The spinal cord, along with the brain, constitutes the body’s main “control center”, transmitting messages that regulate movement, sensation and vital functions. When a Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) occurs, usually after a trauma of the spinal cord, this communication is disrupted to varying degrees.
